Hand-spun silk may feature small slubs (tiny knots) on the surface – these are natural characteristics of authentic silk, not defects.
Due to traditional handweaving on wooden looms, the edges may appear slightly wavy rather than perfectly straight like industrial products. This is a distinctive feature that highlights the individuality and cultural identity of each brocade shawl.

According to artisan Sầm Thị Tình, weaving a Bộc Mẩy scarf requires a highly specialized technique unlike ordinary weaving. The scarf is woven with a double-layer structure and uses four heddles to create its elaborate patterns – a detail that makes this piece truly exceptional.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Dry Cleaning (Recommended):

The best way to preserve silk is to have it dry-cleaned.

Hand Washing:

Wash by hand in cold water. Use only mild shampoo or body wash. Do not use detergent, soap, or bleach.
Do not rub vigorously or wring. Gently squeeze out water by pressing softly.
For stains: clean only the affected area with shampoo/body wash and rub gently until the stain is removed.

Drying, Ironing & Storage:

Air dry in a cool, shaded, and well-ventilated place. Avoid direct sunlight, which may cause fading.
Iron on the reverse side at the “silk” setting.
Store in a dedicated compartment or drawer to best preserve the product.

SPECIFIC NOTES

For Silk Scarves:

Minimize washing; instead, air the scarf in a cool place after use.
When drying, stretch the scarf gently to reduce wrinkles.

For Silk Ties:

Untie the knot immediately after use to help the tie return to its original shape.
